ANGEL Training of Trainers workshops held in Malaysia

The ASEAN Network for Green Entrepreneurship and Leadership (ANGEL) hosted a Training of Trainers (ToT) at the Project Coordinator’s premises, the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from November 21 to November 25, 2022. The ToT focused on building common understanding and share green entrepreneurship and leadership knowledge among ANGEL partners. The aim of the ToT was to train the core teams (key academic and administrative staff) for ANGEL implementation in Asian partner universities: the ANGEL Enterprise teams.

The workshop facilitators were representatives the European project partners (Hellenic Open University, Research Innovation and Development Lab, University of Cyprus, and Centre for Social Innovative). The EU partner interventions were structured in 5 sessions:

Session 1: Entrepreneurship and Leadership: Basic Concepts, The EU EntreComp, DigComp and GreenComp Frameworks

Session 2: Innovation and Green Entrepreneurial Leadership. The role of Universities. International and European Best Practices

Session 3: Setting up a University Green Entrepreneurial Centre in ASEAN countries: Practical issues (incl. Intra/extra networking and stakeholder involvement) : The ANGEL Excellence Centres

Session 4: Financing and Support Systems for the ASEAN’s ANGEL ECs

Session 5: Training on green entrepreneurship: A common element for the ASEAN’s partners UGECs: An introduction to the training material and toolbox

The workshops received positive feedback with more than 8o% of the participants expressing overall satisfaction for the five sessions combined. The workshop covered topics such as green business, creativity, ideation process, start-up basics, green leader entrepreneur, green lean canvas, green finance, green marketing, and pitching ideas. These topics are essential for a green leader and entrepreneur to build and maintain sustainable business and they will, also, act as guidelines to train and develop green leaders in each ASEAN partners’ regions.
